This is open to anyone, although we do
hold places for residents who live within Bristol's inner
city and current or ex problematic users of drug and/or alcohol
. The aim of the programme is to provide new and exciting
learning experiences for those involved and produce quality
results that will help bring about positive change.
: End of November
2006
Numbers required: 6-8 people
Volunteers will be trained in a variety of research methods
by professional researchers working in the drug and alcohol
field. Volunteers will also receive drug awareness training
from CAAAD.
The team will be researching a wide range of issues, which
will require different research skills ranging from front
line face to face interviewing of service users and providers
through to gathering and collating information and creating
research packs. The information will be used to raise awareness
and develop initiatives focused on tackling both the causes
and the effects of problematic drug and alcohol use and drug
dealing.
The team will also conduct research for IDEAL Community Productions.
This will range from sourcing contributors for films through
to gathering information.

We will be looking for people interested in making documentary
films. If this something you are interested in please have
a think about what role you would like to fill e.g. camera
man, researcher, editor etc. and get in contact. We will be
developing ideas of what the film will be about over the coming
months, so if you wish to be involved at this earlier stage
please contact us.
As with all of our projects volunteers will receive drug
awareness training in addition to learning the wide variety
skills needed to make a film. This training we hope to be
done again by BBC volunteers.

in fundraising. This will involve researching different funding
pots, building relationships with companies and individuals,
developing money making ideas and putting them into action.
Our long term aim is for IDEAL
to eventually become self sufficient as a not for profit organisation.
The responsibility of the fundraising team will be to make
this happen.
No experience is necessary all volunteers will receive training
on the different types of fundraising and how to do it. Drug
awareness training will also be provided.
